The Government of Rwanda, jointly with the ILO, is pleased to welcome you to Kigali for the 19th ILO Regional Seminar for Labour-based Practitioners, from 15th to 19th May 2023 under the theme: “Promoting skills and productive (decent) jobs for our common better future”.
Seminar background
The past eighteen Regional Seminars have been held in various African Countries drawing practitioners and other interested stakeholders from Africa and the rest of the world.
The 19th Regional Seminar will be a great opportunity for participants to share views, experiences and review developments in employment-intensive approaches to creating communities that are resilient to socio-economic, environmental and climate change hazards

Why participating?
The whole world is currently grappling with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and active conflicts that are threatening global order and affecting the livelihoods of millions of people around the world.
The Regional Seminar provides a platform to reflect on these challenges and their impact on the economics and the people of the region, suggesting mitigation measures with a focus on employment and employability.
The 19th Regional Seminar will focus on drawing the attention of national and regional governments, the private sector, and development partners towards policies, strategies and programs that promote the creation of jobs, skills learning and business opportunities for African young women and men

INTARE CONFERENCE ARENA
The Intare Conference Arena is a fully integrated and secure complex with state of the art facilities for all kinds of events–whether in tens or thousands. With its large meeting rooms, exhibition space, advanced audio-visual equipment, translation suites, printing facilities, high-speed 4G wireless internet connections and catering services, the Intare Conference Arena is the ideal venue.
LOCATION
A ten minute drive from the airport; the Intare Conference Arena is located close to the special economic (free trade) zone. Located in a lushly landscaped green space, ringed by palm trees, rolling hills, vast gardens and a great horizon view, one would never know it is located right across the Kigali International Airport. Without the congestion of a downtown area, this provides ease of access for travellers and out-of-town guests. It includes extensive, free parking for over 560 vehicles in the lush gardens and an extra 400 provisional exterior parking. Guests can drive right up to the building and park.
